China shares flat ahead of trade data

Chinese shares were flat at the opening on Thursday, as the market awaited trade data for March due later in the day, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.87 points to 2,104.37. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, was up 0.15 per cent, or 1.59 points, to 1,089.48, according to AFP.
