China shares higher in morning trade

Chinese shares were higher in morning trade on Wednesday after an improvement in March manufacturing data and a rally in US stocks, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.15 per cent, or 3.08 points, to 2,050.54. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, rose 0.33 per cent, or 3.52 points, to 1,060.53, according to AFP.
