China shares slide slightly in morning trade

Chinese shares were slightly lower in morning trade on Wednesday after data showed inflation eased in June from the previous month, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.17 percent, or 3.47 points, to 2,060.55. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s 2nd exchange, edged down 0.08 percent, or 0.88 points, to 1,119.50. China’s annual inflation slowed to 2.3 per cent in June from a four-month high of 2.5 per cent in May, the National Bureau of Statistics said in a statement, according to AFP.
