China shares slip on tension over Malaysia jet crash

Chinese shares were down in morning trade on Friday as Asian markets fell due to tensions after a Malaysia Airlines plane crashed in Ukraine, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slid 0.36 per cent, or 7.41 points, to 2,048.18 points. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, fell 0.25 per cent, or 2.78 points, to 1,096.27, according to AFP.
