China stocks slide

Chinese stocks were lower in morning trade on Wednesday, tracking an overnight sell-off on Wall Street, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.64 per cent, or 14.28 points, to 2,205.67. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, slid 0.28 per cent, or 3.29 points, to 1,169.47, according to AFP.
