China to promote potato growth

BEIJING, July 31 (CEIS): China will establish an international potato center (Asia-Pacific), according to Zhang Fengtong, head of science, technology and education department of the Ministry of Agriculture.
Speaking at a recent on-the-spot demonstration for growing efficient, high quality and water saving potato cultivation in dry land, Zhang said that China would make use of both international and national resources and markets to upgrade technology and develop potato industry.
China owns the biggest potato-growing areas and attaches great importance to potato growth.
