China wants follow-up actions on agreed issues

China expects follow-up actions on the agreed important issues with Bangladesh and mapping out commemorative activities to be held next year, said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying. She said China also wants to extend bilateral cooperation in economy and trade, connectivity and people-to-people exchanges, and further boost China-Bangladesh relations, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry. The spokesperson also said both Nepal and Bangladesh are neighbours of long-lasting friendship with China. ‘Next year marks the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal, as well as the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bangladesh,’ Hua Chunying added. Meanwhile, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi arrived in Dhaka on Saturday night to discuss the progress on the deals and MoUs signed Dhak and Beijing during Prime Minister’s Sheikh Hasina’s visit to China in June. The Chinese Foreign Minister has been here at the invitation of his Bangladesh counterpart and his visit is considered as another step towards boosting the bilateral relations. The bilateral talks between the two countries led by the two Foreign Ministers have started at 10am at the Foreign Ministry, according to a news agency.
