China's textile, clothing export down 4.2pc

BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhua): China's textile and clothing export value in June totaled 15.52 billion US dollars in June, down 4. 2 per cent year on year, statistics with National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) show.
In the first six months of this year, China's textile and clothing export value totaled 81.7 billion US dollars, up 11.1 per cent, but 6.4 per centage points lower than the same period of last year.
NDRC deemed that the decline in export growth of textiles is on the one hand due to the high export value last June, as enterprises accelerated their export in the month before the down adjustment of export rebate by the government in July.
