Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday sought Chinese cooperation in Bangladesh’s bid to become a developed and prosperous nation by 2041. The premier’s request came when 15-member delegation of Chinese armed forces led by Air Chief Marshal Xu Qiliang called on her at her official residence Ganobhaban, her special assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil told reporters. Shakil said the prime minister told the delegation that the neighbouring countries should follow economic development of China. She hoped that the construction of the trans-Asian highway through China, Myanmar and Bangladesh will be completed soon. This, she said, will boost the trade between Bangladesh and China. The Prime Minister invited Chinese President and Prime Minister to visit Bangladesh at their convenient time, according to a news agency.
