Chinese co to invest $5.0m in Mongla EPZ

A Chinese company will invest US$ 5.006 million to set up a coconut coir processing industry in Mongla Export Processing Zone.
The cent per cent foreign-owned company named M/s Jason Coir Industry Ltd will manufacture annually 11,000 tonnes of processed coir, coir cushion, coir mattress, coconut peat and coir roll.
It will also create employment opportunity for 262 Bangladeshi and 18 foreign nationals, reports UNB.
An agreement to this effect was signed between the Bangladesh Export procession Zone Authority (BEPZA) and M/s Jason Coir Industry Limited in the city recently.
Member (Investment) of BEPZA Prasanta Bhushan Barua and Chairman and Managing Director of Jason Coir Industry Chen Jin signed the lease agreement.
