Chinese co to invest $30m in BEPZA Economic Zone

Huarun Tex Co. Ltd., a Chinese company, is set to invest US$ 30 million to establish a textile manufacturing industry in BEPZA Economic Zone (BEPZA EZ) in Mirsharai, Chattogram.
The factory will be built on 36,000 square meters of land. Once fully operational, the company will produce 24,000 tonnes of yarn and 20 million meters of gray woven fabric annually. The project will also create jobs for 580 Bangladeshi nationals.
A land lease agreement was signed recently between the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Huarun Tex Co. Ltd. at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka.
Md. Tanvir Hossain, Member (Investment Promotion) of BEPZA, and Bin Wang, Managing Director of Huarun Tex Co., Ltd. signed the agreement. BEPZA Executive Chairman Major General Mohammad Moazzem Hossain witnessed the signing ceremony.
BEPZA Executive Chairman thanked Huarun Tex Co., Ltd. for choosing Bangladesh specially the BEPZA Economic Zone for their investment.
The signing ceremony was attended by Abdullah Al Mamun, Member (Engineering); A N M Foyzul Haque, Member (Finance); Md. Khorshid Alam, Executive Director (Enterprise Services); Samir Biswas, Executive Director (Administration); Mohammad Anamul Haque, Project Director of BEPZA Economic Zone; and A.S.M. Anwar Parvez, Executive Director (Public Relations).
