Chinese co to set up garments industry in Dhaka EPZ

M/s Goldtex Garments Ltd, a Chinese company, will invest $9.63 million for setting up a garments manufacturing industry in Dhaka Export Processing Zone (EPZ), reports UNB.
In this connection, an agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and M/s Goldtex Garments Limited at BEPZA Complex in the city Monday.
BEPZA Member (Investment promotion) Prasanta Bhushan Barua and M/s Goldtex Garments Limited Director (Finance) Mohamed Subaid Ali signed the lease agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
This one hundred per cent foreign-owned company will produce all types of jackets, shirts, pants, overall skirts, blouse, vest, caps and hats. The company will create employment opportunity for 2,767 Bangladeshi and 23 foreign nationals.
