Chinese company keen to set up 2 medical universities, 6 colleges

International Engineering Department, Sinomach, a Chinese company, has expressed keen interest to set up two medical universities and six medical colleges equipped with modern equipment for facilitating better medicare services in Bangladesh, reports BSS.
A four-member delegation of the company led by its general manager Shi Weazho expressed the interest while calling on minister for Health and Family Welfare Mohammad Nasim at his Secretariat office Wednesday.
The Chinese company wants to work jointly with Bangladesh and offered the proposal with soft loan before the minister through a power point presentation.
Terming China as one of the friendly states of Bangladesh, the health minister lauded Chinese investment in different sectors including communication for the socio-economic progress of the country.
 Mr Nasim urged the Chinese government to provide assistance in the heath sector.  He said,"We are seeking Chinese cooperation for making our health service more people oriented".
The minister assured the delegation that their proposal would be considered.
State minister for health Zahid Maleq, secretary Monjurul Islam, director general of heath department Professor Dr Din M Nurul Haq, and other high officials were present.
