Chinese example of primary education

Tuesday, 14 June 2022

China has an entirely different school system compared to Bangladesh. Education in China is rigorous and exam-based, focusing mainly on math and science. Teacher training is a national priority, and all teachers are educated to impart basic skills across all levels. In China's education system, primary school teachers are considered as the real heroes for schoolchildren. And elementary schools are kept in the core of all educational plans. While introducing schoolchildren to values and ethics, the educational authorities follow Confucian principles.
In China, emphasis is put on children's creativity, sports, integrated learning methods, and teacher training. Classrooms are spacious. And there is always another room beside the classroom, where children can play or take rest for a while. There are language clubs in every school campus, where teacher-student interaction develops and enhances students' communication skills.
Our primary school system can learn a number of things from China's methods. We could be benefitted from its methodical approach to teaching students to achieve mastery of basic skills. And primary school teachers should be considered as the real craftsmen in developing children as ideal human beings.
