Tuesday, 12 April 2011
Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase has approved a total of 13 proposals including a contract awarded to a Chinese company for repair of cracks at Bangabandhu Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge, reports UNB.
The committee approved four proposals Sunday and nine others Monday. Sunday's inconclusive meeting of the committee resumed on the day.
The Jamuna Bridge cracks repair proposal was placed by the communications ministry Sunday which received speedy approval, meeting sources said.
China Communications Construction Company Ltd (CCCC) obtained the contract for repair work as a lone responsive bidder as the communications ministry cancelled two other bidders' proposals terming those non-responsive.
