Chinese leader Yan Junqi meets Khaleda

Visiting Vice Chairperson of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress Yan Junqi met BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia Tuesday night.
The nearly 40-minute meeting that began around 8pm was held at the BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office, according to a news agency.
Various issues relating to the mutual interests of the two countries and Bangladesh’s latest political situation came up for discussion at the meeting.
Yan Junqi arrived in the city Tuesday on a three-day visit at the invitation of Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.
