Chinese shares flat

Chinese shares were flat in morning trade on Thursday as investors awaited the release of June trade figures later in the day, dealers said. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.02 per cent, or 0.47 points, to 2,039.08 points. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, rose 0.10 per cent, or 1.14 points, to 1,103.57, according to AFP.
