Chittagong Div registers second win in National Cricket League

Chittagong Division registered their second win in the 11th National Cricket League with an eight-wicket victory over Sylhet Division at the Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi Stadium Thursday, reports UNB.
Chasing the target of 122, Chittagong Division easily hit 123 runs in 29.2 overs for loss of two wickets.
After the early wicket of openers Arman Hossain (0) and Mahbubul Karim (16), one down Rezaul Karim and two down Nazimuddin steered Chittagong Division towards the victory with unbeaten 65 and 40 runs respectively.
Nasir Hossain and Nabil Samad took one wicket each conceding 19 and 33 runs respectively.
Earlier, resuming the third day with an overnight score of 40 for 5, Sylhet Division, in their second innings, was all out for 141 runs setting a small target of 122 runs.
Nightwatch batsman Alok Kapali was the only batsman, who scored top 66 runs off 102 balls with five fours and two sixes.
Elias Sunny, who took one wicket on Wednesday, took another three wickets today to finish his spell with 7.4-1-37-4 while Iqbal Hossain, who bagged one wicket on Wednesday, captured two wickets today to finish his spell with 12-2-33-3.
Besides, Tareq Aziz claimed two wickets for 15 runs while Kazi Kamrul bagged one wicket for 48 runs.
Faisal Hossain of Chittagong was adjudged the player of the match.
In the day's other match, riding on middle order Shamsur Rahman's brilliant century, Dhaka Division took an overall 118 runs lead over Rajshahi Division at the Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.
Resuming the second innings on the third day today with overnight score of 10 for 1, Dhaka Division scored 298 runs for 5 in 96 overs at stumps on the day.
Number four batsman Shamsur Rahman contributed 134 runs off 201 balls with nine fours and a six while nightwatch opener Uttam Sarkar made 73 runs off 170 balls with 10 fours.
Number six batsman Suvagata Hom and number seven Nadif Chowdhury were at the crease with 57 and 11 runs respectively as the bails were drawn for the day.
Delwar Hossain, who took one wicket on Wednesday, claimed two more wickets today with 23-2-76-3 while Farhad Hossain took one wicket for 28.
In another match, Khulna Division set a massive 363 runs winning target to Barisal Division at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium at Fatullah.
Resuming the third day with overnight score of 196 for 8, Barisal Division, in their first innings, was all out for 202 runs in 71.1 overs in reply of Khulna Division's first innings total of 332 runs.
Nightwatch batsman Abul Bashar scored 33 runs off 74 balls with five fours while another nightwatch batsman Monir Hossain added 12 runs off 41 balls with three fours.
Pacer Syed Rasel, who captured two wickets on Wednesday, took one more wicket today with 14.1-4-49-3 while Nazmus Sadat, Dollar Mahmud and Murad Khan scalped two wickets each conceding 19, 35 and 64 runs respectively.
In reply, Khulna Division declared their second innings at 232 for 8 in 71.4 overs with Syed Rasel scoring 54 runs off 71 balls with 10 fours while opener Nazmus Sadat hammering 33 runs off 27 balls with five fours and a six.
