Chittagong, Sylhet DSAs earn easy wins

Chittagong and Sylhet DSAs earned comfortable victories in the 34th National Cricket Championship at separate venues on Sunday, reports UNB.
Chittagong DSA posted a huge 70-run victory over Mymensingh DSA at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra while Sylhet DSA managed 60-run win over Barisal DSA at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar.
Sent into bat first in Bogra, Chittagong DSA scored 251 for all in 49.3 overs with openers Irfan Sukur and Moinuddin Rubel making 112 runs in 21.2 overs in the opening stand.
Moinuddin Rubel contributed team highest 51 runs off 72 balls with eight fours, Irfan Sukur scored 50 runs off 60 balls with seven fours and a six, Yasir Ali added 49 runs off 62 balls with three fours and two sixes while Abdul Kader made 31 off 27 balls with two fours.
Zakir and Ejaz grabbed three wickets each for 47 and 48 runs respectively while Salehin Rifat took two wickets for 38 runs.
In reply, Mymensingh DSA were all out for 181 in 42.1 overs with opener Muzahidul Islam scoring match highest 90 runs off 111 balls that featured 11 fours, and lower order Arifur Rahman scoring 37-ball 45 runs with three fours and three sixes.
Moinuddin Rubel, who scored 51 runs, also grabbed two wickets for 9 runs to be adjudged man of the match. Tanvir Haider captured three wickets for 33 runs while Tarek Aziz took two for 36 runs.
In Cox's Bazar, Sylhet DSA batted first after winning the toss and were all out for 183 in 49.4 overs with opener Sadikur Rahman scoring 25 runs, Taposh Baishya making 24 and Mizanur Rahman 23 runs.
Moin claimed four wickets for 32 runs while Abdullah Saif and Mohammad Mahin took two wickets each for 30 and 33 runs respectively.
Chasing 184 runs, Barisal DSA were dismissed for 123 runs in 39.5 overs with Raisul Islam scoring 45, Sajib 30 and Moin 18 runs.
Veteran national colour pacer Taposh Baishya, who earlier scored 24 runs, caused the major damage to Barisal innings claiming five wickets for 17 runs in his 7.5 overs spell and was adjudged man of the match. Rahatul Ferdous picked up three wickets for 22 runs.
