Chittagong\\\'s rail links restored

Chittagong’s railway links to Dhaka and Sylhet have been restored ten hours after a freight train derailed at Akhaura Upazila in Brahmanbaria. The train services on these routes started operating normally around 4:30am on Monday, said Akhaura GRP Station OC Saidul Islam. Two carriages of a Dhaka-bound goods train from the port city went off the tracks near Gangasagar Railway Station around 6pm on Sunday. That cut off Chittagong's railway communications with Dhaka and Sylhet. A rescue train from Akhaura was moved to the spot of derailment to remove the rakes. The rail services resumed after engineers from Comilla repaired the tracks, according to bdnews24.com.
