Chittagong\\\'s rail links resume after 7-hour

Chittagong’s railway links with the rest of the country resumed early on Wednesday after being snapped for more than 7 hours. Services were stopped on Tuesday after the Dhaka-bound 'Mahanagar Godhuli’ express train went off the tracks in Shashidal Railway Station under Brahmanpara Upazila in Comilla district around 10:30pm. Rail services between Chittagong and the rest of the country resumed around 5:30am on Wednesday after the tracks were cleared, Comilla Railway’s Chief Engineer Mustafizur Rahman said. Rail communication with the port city were disrupted for six hours earlier on Tuesday after a train hit a trailer truck, stranded on the rail tracks, in Chittagong's Sitakunda Upazila around 5:30am ysterday. The accident left one person killed. Rail communications had resumed around 11am, but were stopped again in the night due to the derailment in Comilla, according to bdnews24.com.
