Christian Welfare Trust (amendment) Bill, 2011 passed

The Christian Religious Welfare Trust (amendment) Act 2011 was passed in the House Sunday. State Minister for Religious Affairs M Shajahan Mia proposed for passage of the bill, reports BSS.
Earlier on February 7, he piloted the bill with a proposal for enhancing fund for the trust to Tk 50 million from Tk 10 million.
While placing the bill, the state minister said the amount of the fixed deposit of the Hindu Religious Welfare Trust and the Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust were already increased.
But, accordingly, the amount of the fixed-deposit of the Christian Religious Welfare Trust was not raised, he said.
