CHATTOGRAM, Apr. 12: The entire Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) wore a festive look as the traditional 'Sangrain' festival of the Marma community and Boishabi of the Chakma community began today (Sunday) amid great enthusiasm and fanfare.
The tribal people started their festivals with the sunrise today by offering flowers to the rivers in their respective areas.
The ethnic community Marma of Bandarban is celebrating the biggest ' Sangrain ' festival amid a big preparation of different food items.
The Marma tribe spends three days of their four-day festival bidding farewell to the outgoing year and the fourth day focusing on greeting the incoming year.
On the first day of the festival, both male and female members of the Marma tribe form a procession to take the images of Buddha down to the riverfront.
