CID gets 62 more days' time to submit report in 10-truck arms case

CHITTAGONG, May 23: For the eighth time a court has granted the criminal investigation department (CID) of police two months' time to submit its findings in the 10- truck arms and ammunition case.
The court of Bhabani Prasad Sinha, metropolitan sessions judge, granted Sunday 62 more days to the CID to submit the report within 25 July upon the prayer of senior ASP of CID Md Moniruzzaman Chowdhury.
Chowdhury, investigation officer of the case, prayed for further 90 days' time Thursday to submit the report.
10 trucks laden with arms and ammunition smuggled from across the Myanmar border were seized by police at the reserved jetty of Chittagong Urea Fertiliser Ltd on the bank of the river Karnafuli on April 1, 2004.
