CHITTAGONG, July 10 (BSS): Chittagong Institute of Medical Technology (CIMT) has been declared closed today following protest of the students.
Sources said the private-run CIMT located in the city's Agrabad area is affiliated to run only Pharmacy, Laboratory and Dentistry departments, but it enrolled students for Bachelor of Science (BSc) course without government approval.
The students admitted for the BSc course could not appear in the examinations, as it has no approval for the course.
The enrolled students brought out a procession on the campus and allegedly beat up CIMT staff this afternoon protesting the mismanagement of the authority.
When contacted, an academic of the institute said that the government approval for BSc course was under process.
