CIS holds seminar on 'early childhood education'

Canadian International School (CIS) organised a seminar on "Early Childhood Education" at Multi Purpose Hall at Banani in the city recently.
CIS Principal Sylvia Gillete presided over the seminar. CIS Chairman Mohammad Kamal Uddin and Vice Chairman Shirin Jahan were also present on the occasion, said a press release.
Educational Psychologist’ IER, DU Professor M Nazmul Haq and Educational Psychologist (IL, USA) Khanieta Anwar attended the seminar as keynote speakers.
They discussed the emotional intelligence, developing oral language and teaching children through play in the seminar.
Professor M Nazmul Haq said that education had to be flexible, supportive and innovative. He added excellence of learning depended on early life exposures, repetition and varieties of stimulation.
He also exchanged opinions on childhood education system with the attending teachers and guardians.
At least two teachers or guardians from various international reputed schools of Dhaka attended the seminar.
