Citi awarded ‘Best Bank in Asia’

Friday, 24 January 2014

Citi was the best bank in Asia for 2013, according to leading industry publication FinanceAsia. The decision was made by the editorial team at FinanceAsia Magazine and was based on the performance of banks across institutional and retail banking for the last 12 months. This was the fifth year in a row Citi has picked up the award.
The bank's client work was also recognized with deal of the year, best sovereign bond, best Islamic bond, best leveraged loan and loan. The bank also led transactions that picked up best deals in India, Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and Vietnam.
In the editorial write up announcing the awards, the editors said: "Citi's growth in Asia over recent years has been built on solid foundations…and the bank was an early mover in cross selling products between commercial and investment banking."
"In a highly competitive market this independent recognition is greatly appreciated by all of us at Citi. I would also like to thank our clients who place their trust in us to meet their financial needs day in and day out and without whom this award would not be possible," said Stephen Bird, CEO for Citi in Asia Pacific.
