Citi Bangladesh wins Euromoney Award

Euromoney, the leading global financial markets magazine, recognised Citi Bangladesh as the “Best Trade Bank in Bangladesh” at its annual Trade Finance Awards for Excellence 2014. Commenting on the awards, Sanjay Tandon, Managing Director and Head of Trade for Asia, Treasury and Trade Solutions said, “This award is excellent recognition for our team in Asia and I would like to thank our clients who place their trust in Citi.” Rashed Maqsood, said, “In a highly competitive market this recognition is greatly appreciated by all of us at Citi.  This win demonstrates Citi’s commitment to providing the best solutions to its’ clients in this region.” Citi has been awarded 9 awards in these high-profile competitions.In the Global category, the bank has also won the Best Overall Global Trade Finance Bank award, the Best Short-Term Trade Finance Bank award, and the Best Energy Finance Bank award. Citi also picked up Best Bank and Best Investment Bank in India and Best Bank in Taiwan - notable achievements given the awards are for all banks operating in the country. For more than 20 years, the Euromoney Awards for Excellence have been recognized as among the most prestigious in the financial services industry. These awards add to the more than 300 that Citi has picked up in the last 12 months in the region, including Best Bank in Asia from FinanceAsia Magazine and The Asset Magazine, said a statement.
