Citi hosts discussion on microfinance

Citibank, N.A., Bangladesh, has for the first time, held a roundtable discussion on "Recognizing Risk, Avoiding the Banana Skins in Microfinance" Monday in the city.
The meeting, which was inaugurated by the former Advisor, Dr. A.B. Mirza Md. Azizul Islam, reviewed the findings of the 2009 Microfinance Banana Skins Survey and provided a forum for Microfinance investors/lenders to exchange views on the principal risks, to future performance, facing the Bangladesh Microfinance Sector.
Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, former Governor, Bangladesh Bank facilitated the roundtable discussion. Philip Brown, Director Risk, Citi Microfinance, Mahesh Mani, Vice President, Microfinance, Citibank, N.A., India, David Lascelles, Senior Fellow, Center for the Study of Financial Innovation, UK and Mamun Rashid, were present .
