Citibank, DBBL sign correspondent banking deal

Citibank, NA Bangladesh and Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) have signed a correspondent banking agreement at the former's head office in the city recently, said a press release.
DBBL Managing Director (MD) Md Yeasin Ali and Citigroup MD and Country Officer (Bangladesh) Mamun Rashid signed the agreement on behalf of their respective banks.
Also present at the signing ceremony were DBBL Senior Assistant Vice-president (SAVP) and head of Retail Banking Division Mir Mominul Huq and other senior officials from the two banks.
Under the agreement, Dutch-Bangla Bank will arrange auto transfer of the fund from the 'Citibank Collection Account' to the 'Citibank Disbursement Account' maintained with the controlling branch of DBBL.
The DBBL managing director said, "It is beneficial for both the banks to enter into an agreement where they will form a strategic alliance to serve their clients better."
"I believe this is a unique opportunity for our two banks to join hands and offer our wide range of services to our clients", he said.
