Citigroup named Best Trade Bank in Asia

Citigroup, a leading global financial services company, has been named the Best Trade Bank in Asia and the Best Global Trade Services Bank in the Fourth Annual Awards for Excellence in 2007 of the Trade Finance, a magazine, recently.
This is the third year in a row Citigroup achieved the award of the Best Trade Bank in Asia, and the first year it is the sole winner, said a press release.
This is the second year in a row Citigroup has been named the Best Trade Services Bank globally.
In other global categories, Citigroup has been named the Best Short Term Finance Bank and Best Export Finance Arranger.
In the Asia regional categories, Citigroup has been named the Best Trade Bank in Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and Vietnam.
Citigroup has also been highly commended in China, Hong Kong, India and Korea.
The results are based on a readers' poll and online voting through the magazine's website to determine the best trade banks in the industry.
The magazine received about 12,000 responses from around the world.
"We are delighted to be voted best trade bank in Asia. We thank our clients for their support. Achieving this award underscores our commitment to be the best provider for trade finance and trade services," said Citigroup's Asia Pacific Region Head of Trade Services and Finance Amita Jhangiani.
In Bangladesh, Citibank has been providing `best in the class' trade solutions for its esteemed corporate and institutional clients for over a decade.
