Citizens Bank's operating profits grow by 21pc, deposits by 30pc

Citizens Bank PLC has recently held its Annual Business Conference 2026 at a resort in Munshiganj.
Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoeb, Chairman of the bank, attended the event as the chief guest and delivered strategic guidance aligned with the bank's mission and vision, says a press release.
S. M. Shofiqul Hoq, Director, and AKM Shahidul Haque, Independent Director, were also present and delivered their valuable speech and guidance.
Mr. Alamgir Hossain, Managing Director, presented a comprehensive overview of the bank's business performance for 2025. He highlighted strong deposit growth, improved asset quality, controlled non-performing loans, and the bank's strong compliance culture, strong capital adequacy, corporate governance and a solid financial foundation.
Citizens Bank achieved outstanding financial performance in 2025, with operating profit growth by 21 per cent. Deposits grew by 30 per cent, advances increased by 34 per cent while non-performing loans (NPLs) ratio stood at 0.20 per cent only.
Mr. Alamgir also outlined the strategic action plan for 2026, emphasising business expansion, enhanced operational efficiency, accelerated digital banking initiatives, expansion of the business network, and the introduction of innovative customer-centric services and products.
Deputy Managing Directors Md. Mostafizur Rahman and Md. Abdul Latif, along with divisional heads and branch managers from across the country, participated in the conference and shared insights on different issues.
