Thursday, 25 March 2010

Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Barrister Shafique Ahmed has urged the entire nation to come up with data and information that can help to prove the inhuman crimes that were perpetrated during the War of Liberation in 1971, reports UNB.
He was addressing a workshop at the city's BILIA auditorium Wednesday.
Bangladesh Heritage Foundation organised the workshop on 'International criminal tribunals'.
Mentioning the propaganda and activities being resorted to by the 'anti-trial' people in America and Britain, he said: "These are not barriers to the trial. The international community is also behind us in favour of the trial. Both the local and international communities want that the trial be conducted in a transparent manner."
The law minister sought to clarify that the trial would not be held with any political interest as its driving force. He reiterated that the proposed trial would not seek to harass anyone for the sake of political expediency.
