City apartment catches fire

A fire broke out at an apartment building in the city’s Purbo Tejtui Bazar area on Thursday noon. Fire service officials said the fire originated from the oven of a kitchen on the second floor of the six-storey building near Biggyan College in the area around 12pm. On information three fire fighting units—two from Tejgaon and another from fire service headquarters– rushed to the spot and doused the flames after an hour of hectic efforts at 1pm. However, no casualty was reported in the incident, according to UNB.
