City Bank's H1 profit grows 9.22pc

The City Bank Ltd has posted a profit after tax of nearly Tk 2.37 billion in January-June period of this year, registering a 9.22 per cent year-on-year growth, thanks to higher operating profit.
The bank's consolidated profit after tax was more than Tk 2.17 billion in the same period of 2022, says a press release.
As a result, its consolidated earnings per share (EPS) stood at Tk 1.97 for January-June this year, up from Tk 1.81 (restated) in the same period a year ago.
City Bank organised its earnings disclosure event based on Q2, 2023 financial performances on a digital platform on Tuesday.
Existing and potential investors across the globe, researchers and analysts and many other individuals involved in the capital market joined the event virtually.
Md Mahbubur Rahman, additional managing director & CFO of the bank, made a presentation on the second quarter financial performance while Mashrur Arefin, managing director & CEO of the bank, discussed the current and future strategies of the bank.
Md Mahbubur Rahman and chief business officer Sheikh Mohammad Maroof of the bank answered different questions from the participants.
This event is part of the bank's continuous effort to scale up investor relations, says the press release.
