City building fire tamed: 2 injured

A fire erupted at a shop in a multi-storey building at Tejturi Bazar in Tejgaon in the city on Thursday. At least two people were injured in the fire which originated in the afternoon at the garment accessories shop on the ground floor of the four-storey building near Farm Gate. Panicked after smoke started to billow out from the building at 2:45pm, workers from a nearby garment factory rushed out of their workplace. RMG workers and locals said at least two persons (male) sustained burn injuries when the fire broke out at the shop. Inmates of the building tamed the flame with the help of the locals before fire fighters rushed in. Identity of the injured could not be known immediately, according to a news agency.
