City corporation's holding tax

DHAKA South City Corporation (DSCC) has recently revised the annual holding taxes for buildings and structures and cost of lighting and garbage cleaning. I have been paying all these taxes for more than a decade at Tk16, 000 per annum and enjoyed a rebate as admissible under DCC rules.
Recently, the DSCC issued notice by fixing the new holding tax at Tk 110,000 per annum. Many of my neighbours and relations are worried as DSCC has refixed the holding tax rate at around 7-8 times the previous amount. It is true that prices of all essentials have gone up, but increasing holding taxes by 7 to 8 times is unthinkable.
Considering the cost of living and inflation it is hard to accept the revised amount. I would request the concerned ministry to take up the matter and stop the DSCC from implementing the revised holding taxes.
