City cotton mill, coaching centre catch fire

Fire broke out at a cotton mill and a coaching centre on Friday in the city’s Khilgaon and Kadamtali areas. However, none was injured in either incident. In Kadamtali, electric short circuit caused a fire at a cotton mill in Chabbish Feet area in Merajnagar around 2:20pm, Fire Service and Civil Defence sources said. Two units of Fire Brigade from Postogola Fire Station rushed to the place of occurrence and put off the blaze around 2.54pm, the sources said. In Khilgaon, a fire took place at a coaching centre at 90/B, New Circular Road under Khilgaon Police Station around 1:34pm. Firefighters said the fire originated from electric short circuit. Being informed, two firefighting units rushed in and doused the fire around 2:20pm, according to a news agency.
