City shoe factory fire burns three

Three people, including a man and his son, sustained burn injuries in a fire incident in Sikkatuli under Bangshal Police Station in Dhaka on Saturday. The victims were identified as Salauddin, 60, owner of the factory, his son Banti, 2, and Nazim Uddin, 16, an employee. Police, quoting firefighters and locals said, the fire broke out at a shoe factory around 1:30am and soon engulfed the entire factory, located on the first floor of a building on plot no 14 in Sikkatuli, leaving three injured. The injured were rescued and rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Among the injured, Salauddin received burns in his hands, chest and back while Banti sustained injuries on his face and Nazim in his left hand and face. The reason behind the fire could not be known, according to a news agency.
