City shopping mall catches fire

A fire erupted at one of the most modern shipping malls in Dhaka – Karnaphuli Garden City – on Saturday morning. However, no casualty was reported from the fire in the multi-storey shopping-mall-cum-residential complex, situated in the city’s Shantinagar area. Quoting witnesses and locals, Fire Service and Civil Defence’s operator M Mostafa said none was injured in the incident, till filing this report at 10:10am. He said the fire broke out at a shop in the super market around 9:07am and thick smokes were seen billowing out from the market building. Being informed, at least 7 firefighting units rushed to the spot and were trying to douse the blaze.
However, neither the fire service officer nor the locals could confirmed the reason of the fire, according to a news agency.
