City slum fire kills minor girl

A minor girl was burned to death in a fire that broke out at a slum in the city's Mohammadpur area Wednesday afternoon. Some 24 shanties were also gutted by the fire at Balurbadh Slum. The deceased was identified as one and a half years old Maria. Further details of the victim could not be known yet. Sources at the Fire Service Central Control Room said the fire originated at the kitchen of a shack and soon it engulfed the adjoining ones.    — UNB
