City street named after KM Safiullah

Mayor of Dhaka Sadek Hossain Khoka Saturday named a street in the capital city after Maj Gen (retd) KM Safiullah Bir Uttam in recognition to his glorious role and courageous contribution in the War of Liberation in 1971, reports BSS.
In a formal ceremony, the Mayor unveiled the plaque naming the road from Sajal Square on Green Road to Farmgate as Bir Uttam KM Safiullah Road.
"The street is being named as Bir Uttam KM Safiullah Road as a mark of recognition to his outstanding contribution to the War of Liberation," said the Mayor while unveiling the plaque.
He said this kind of initiative would help the coming generations learn about the blood stained history of the war we fought in 1971.
KM Safiullah, freedom fighters and officials of Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) were present on the occasion.
