City train crash death toll rises to 4

A man, injured in a train-bus collision near Kamalapur Railway Station in the city on Tuesday night, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday, raising the death toll to 4. The dead is Al Amin, 18, a rickshaw-puller and son of Shukur Ali of Muklima of Islampur upazila of Jamalpur. Earlier, three people died in the incident. Police quoting witnesses said a Dhaka-bound commuter train from Narayanganj hit Gazipur-bound passenger bus ‘Balaka Paribahan’ at TT Para level-crossing around 10:30pm on Tuesday, leaving at least two people killed on the spot and injuring 13 others, including Al Amin. The injured were rushed to the DMCH where doctors declared one Nazmus Sadat Nazu dead. Al Amin was shifted to National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) from DMCH with his one hand severed in the accident. Later, he was again brought back to DMCH in critical condition. He succumbed to his injuries at Ward No.101 at the hospital around 3:00am, DMCH police camp sources said, according to bdnews24.com.
