FE Report
Zoom was officially launched for Citycell post-paid customers in July, 2007. This CDMA2000 1X technology-based service offers faster data processing than any other nationwide mobile internet service provider, and also the convenience of security, mobility and uninterrupted service and connectivity all over Bangladesh, and even on the move.
The service has won the acceptance of many top local corporate houses and NGOs.
At the launching ceremony held at the Citycell Corporate Night in Chittagong, Deputy General Manager, Product and Business Development of Citycell, Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui, said Citycell's aim is to take internet to the doorsteps of every household in Bangladesh.
With Zoom pre-paid, internet services will reach remote, ISP-dark areas easily. Moreover, the convenient pre-paid charging system based on a one second pulse will make the service much more convenient and affordable, and simpler than any other internet offering in the market.
The existing Citycell One pre-paid users can also enjoy Zoom on their Zoom enabled handsets by writing Zoom and sending SMS to 9666.
When internet charges are based on kilobyte usage, it is impossible to estimate how many kilobytes are being transferred while having an active session on the internet.
Therefore, it is difficult to keep control of costs, and the user's pre-paid balance could be depleted without knowing why or how. That is why Pre-Paid Zoomâ„¢ wireless internet service which charges on a 'per-second' basis, allows the user to be fully in control of internet expenses by simply calculating the duration of time spent on the net.
That means the user needs to pay only as much as s/he uses.
