CityCell launches high-speed wireless internet service

Cellular phone operator CityCell Wednesday formally launched its newly developed high-speed wireless internet service named 'mycitycell ZOOM'.
From now on the CityCell customers can enjoy premium internet service within the company's extensive network across the country's 61 districts.
Terming the service as a revolutionary solution to mobile internet needs, CityCell Product Development Manager Ahmed Armaan Siddiqui told a press conference in the city that the service offers faster data speed than any other nationwide wireless internet service provider.
The CDMA2000 1X technology-based service also ensures utmost convenience of security, mobility and uninterrupted connectivity all over the country, he added.
CityCell Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tarikul Hasan, Head of Marketing Anand Rahasingham and General Manager of Marketing Communications Sania Mahmood along with other officials were also present at the press conference.
The customers can avail the internet service through PCMCIA data card or USB data modem including several selected handsets. The PCMCIA card device is used for laptop computers, and the USB data modem can be used both with laptop and desktop computers.
USB data modem with 'ZOOM' connection will cost Tk 8,000, while PCMCIA data card with 'ZOOM' connection Tk 9,000.
Connections and devices are available at more than 400 authorised 'ZOOM' sales points, particularly at the appointed strategic partners, IT houses and CityCell's own direct sales points across the country.
Billing information and bill payment have been made very easy for the 'ZOOM' customers. They can log on to www.citycell.com/onlineselfcare to check their usage and bill amount or dial *120 for bill details.
Bill payment can be made through cash card recharge (*222) and at the branches of CityCell-authorised banks. E-mail billing system will also be introduced very soon for the service.
