City's transportation system

Although there has been a deterioration in taxi-cab services, hardly any corrective steps were taken. The taxicab service was launched in the country to facilitate better transportation to commuters as well as to cater to tourist needs. But due to lack of proper supervision it has deteriorated.
Most of the vehicles used by taxicab companies have become unfit for the service. The air-conditioning of the yellow cars does not work anymore. The black cabs lack fitness raising the obvious question how they are allowed to run both in and outside, the black cabs don't look fit for the service.
Introduced eight or nine years back, the cab service started deteriorating within a year. The initial expectation that the service would improve due to competition proved to be wrong.
The government needs to pay attention to cab service with due importance. In the capital, not a single public transportation system cares for providing even the minimum comfort to the commuters. People face horrible experiences while availing the bus services. The autorickshaw service is equally bad. The government should ensure drastic improvement of bus, autorickshaw and taxi-cab services.
