City’s Multiplan Centre catches fire

A fire broke out at the multi-storey shopping mall ‘Multiplan Centre’ at Elephant Road in the city on Saturday night. Fire Service officials said the fire originated at a shop on the eighth floor of the 10-storey building around 9:30pm and soon it engulfed the entire floor. On information, 13 fire-fighting units rushed in and they were working to douse the blaze till of filing of this report at 11pm. The reason behind the fire could not be known yet, according to a news agency.
