Civil society members instigating BNP

Monday, 3 March 2014

Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif on Monday alleged that some civil society members through television talk-show programmes are instigating the BNP to wage movement. The ruling party leader made the remarks while addressing a meeting in the memory of filmmaker Alamgir Kumkum, organised by Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote at the Shilpakala Academy in the city. Terming the upazila parishad polls a non-party one, Hanif said the result of the upazila parishad polls can’t be the yardstick of any party’s popularity. The ruling party leader termed BNP chairperson’s threat to wage movement after the polls as an ominous sign for the country, according to UNB.
