Clarke, North ease tensions

Tuesday, 4 August 2009

Australia 263 and 172 for 4 (Clarke 12*, North 4*) lead England 376 by 59 runs
Australia have made positive strides in their bid to save the third Test, but will be painfully aware that any loss of focus after lunch could yet have dire consequences. The tourists, who resumed with eight wickets in hand and 25 runs in arrears of England, advanced their total to 172 for 4 to hold an overall lead of 59 runs on a morning of tension and attrition at Edgbaston. – Cricinfo
