Clash between businessmen leaves 20 injured in city's Gulistan

A clash between two groups of businessmen had jolted the city's Gulistan area Tuesday noon that injured at least 20 people.
Business activities in the area came to a halt for almost three hours due to the skirmish as it caused panic among the people, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali police station Salah Uddin Khan told the FE.
Witnesses said the clash took place when supporters of pro-BNP immediate past committee of the Sundarban Square Super Market locked in an altercation with the members of the Awami League-minded present committee of the multi-storied market over previous enmity at about 12:10pm.
At one stage of the altercation, the supporters of the past committee swooped on the adherents of the present committee that led to the clash, leaving at least 20 people on both side injured.
